December/January 2024/2025

If you’re anything like me, then you’ve probably been dreaming of how you’ll look on your wedding day since you were a child. Now that you’re engaged and are having to decide on a dress, hairstyle and make-up, it can feel overwhelming. My biggest piece of advice is to choose a look that feels right for you. If you don’t usually wear make-up, then going into your big day with a full face of glamorous products can make you feel uncomfortable and likewise, if you wear make-up on a daily basis, then going without it might make you feel naked. It’s all about finding a style that takes your normal look and elevates it to a new level – one that makes you look and feel like the best version of yourself. Talk to your hair and make-up artists; they’re the experts and have helped hundreds of brides get ready for their wedding, so they’ll have suggestions that can make your normal look bridal-ready.

Make sure you book a hair and make-up trial; it’s the perfect time to sit with your supplier, talk through your look and ask any questions that you may have. It also means that you can try several styles, so if the idea you have in your head doesn’t look quite like you imagined, then it doesn’t matter; you can keep trying styles until you find the perfect look for you.

To help give you some inspiration, we’ve rounded up some of the region’s top suppliers and asked for their beauty tips and trend predictions for 2025.

Happy planning!

Eleven Didsbury Park

Nestled away in the leafy suburb of Didsbury, Eleven Didsbury Park offers a homely feel with calming neutral tones intertwined with stunning artwork, open fireplaces and exposed brickwork. The Walled Victorian Garden invites lovebirds to relax and unwind with an abundance of wonderful flora and fauna to explore. The Victorian villa has 20 on-site bedrooms for guests to choose from, comfy sofas and a neutral décor throughout, ideal for those of you wanting to add your own touches.

The property isn’t licensed for ceremonies, so the service can take place at the venue’s sister hotel, Didsbury Park Hotel. However, the on-site Garden Lounge and Victorian Walled Gardens will create the perfect backdrop for a more informal reception, seating up to 80 guests under the heated canopy.

Essential oils have the ability to switch up our emotional and mental state, but if you're new to aromatherapy, getting started can feel like a bit of a minefield. The easiest and most effective way to experience their power is all about pairing them with your pulse points according to Tisserand Aromatherapy and their small but mighty rollerballs help to do just that. "Your pulse points are the parts of the body where your blood is closest to the skin," explains Jo Kellet, Tisserand Aromatherapy Essential Oil Expert. "Applying here allows for fast absorption and quicker results. To maximise the benefit of both your olfactory senses and your pulse points, it's best to place them where your nose can still get a whiff!"
