A Michelin-starred restaurant with rooms, Askham Hall in the Lake District, is running the third in its series of Wild and Mindful Retreats this October. The three-night retreat begins on Sunday 13th October. It will be led by ex-SAS mountaineer and spiritual guide Krish Thapa, providing guided meditations, forest bathing, walking and award-winning food, all in the setting of a beautiful historic country home.
The retreat, the penultimate of four this year, is suitable for everyone, including those who have never tried meditation before, and will offer a peaceful, nurturing and nourishing escape.
Krish was one of the first of two Ghurka to pass selection into the British SAS, serving as head of the Mountain Troops. He is passionate about integrating ancient wisdom and philosophy into modern leadership and performance. In 2023, he led the first double-above-knee amputee, Hari Budha Magar, to summit Mount Everest. He now dedicates his life to supporting others to achieve their goals and transcend their limitations.
As well as meditation, food is very much at the heart of the retreats and guests will get to enjoy Askham Hall’s home-reared and home-grown produce in the form of abundant breakfasts, wild picnics, a tasting menu at its Michelin-starred restaurant Allium, a cosy dinner at its sister pub, and a relaxed supper in its private dining room.
Guests will stay in Askham Hall’s historic bedrooms, each individual and full of character and free time between activities can be passed, making the most of the many walking routes and beautiful views nearby.
