Lily Arkwright donates wedding rings to terminally ill Manchester groom

Lily Arkwright donates wedding rings

In a touching display of generosity, Lily Arkwright Jewellers has stepped forward to support a very special couple by donating a pair of wedding bands to a terminally ill groom and his fiancée, ensuring they can celebrate their dream wedding despite their circumstances.

The ethical and sustainable jeweller was contacted by Gift of a Wedding, a UK charity that arranges weddings for individuals facing a terminal diagnosis. The couple, based in Withington, Manchester, had hoped to marry but faced financial barriers. Their wedding was set for Friday, 28th February 2025, leaving little time to secure the rings needed for their big day. After learning about their story, the team at Lily Arkwright was honoured to help, donating two plain gold wedding bands, which were delivered ahead of the wedding date. This small but meaningful gesture ensures the couple can exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment.

Kate Munns, Operations Director for Lily Arkwright shared: "Weddings are about love, unity, and creating cherished memories. When we heard about this couple's story through Gift of a Wedding, we knew we wanted to be involved. We hope these rings bring them joy on their special day and serve as a lasting reminder of their love." Gift of a Wedding is a registered charity that works tirelessly to grant weddings to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses, partnering with businesses and generous donors across the UK to make these dreams come true. Their work brings comfort and happiness to couples and their families in difficult times.

Annemarie, a Senior Wedding Coordinator at Gift of a Wedding, expressed her gratitude: "We cannot thank Lily Arkwright enough for their kindness. Their donation has helped create a truly special moment for this couple, allowing them to celebrate their love with the wedding they always wished for. Massive thanks once again—we are more than grateful for their generosity and kindness.." Lily Arkwright, known for their commitment to ethical and sustainable jewellery, continues to find ways to support and uplift their community through meaningful contributions. This latest act of generosity underscores their dedication to making a difference beyond the world of fine jewellery.
